STUDY ON EFFICACY OF JI-ER EFFERVESCENT DISINFECTION TABLET IN KILLING MICROORGANISMS IN WATER AND THE INFLUENCING FACTORS

Abstract

In order to know the efficacy of Ji-Er effervescent disinfection tablet in killing microorganisms in water and the influencing factors, suspension quantitative germicidal test in laboratory and natural water sample disinfection test were carried out. The results showed that the disinfectant containing available chlorine l mg/L with a 7.5 min contact time had an efficacy of killing 100% of Escherichia coli in water suspension and also killed 100% of Escherichia coli in water from water tank. The disinfectant containing available chlorine 1 mg/L with a 10 min contact time could kill coli-group in natural well water to up-to-standard disinfection and the residual chlorine was 0.5 mg/L. The water temperature as low as 5℃,pH value 7.0 and degree of color of organic substance 10 had certain influence on germicidal efficacy of water containing available chlorine 1 mg/L. The results indicated that Ji-Er effervescent disinfection tablet has good efficacy in killing microorganisms in water.
