Analysis of prognostic factors for chronic severe hepatitis

Abstract

Objective:To study the related factors influencing the prognosis of chronic severe hepatitis.Methods:Between 2002 and 2004,60 patients with chronic severe hepatitis were retrospectively reviewed.Results:(1)The older age the patient was,the higher fatality rate there was.(2)The fatality rate increased gradually with TBIL and decreased in prothrombin activity(PTA),total cholesterol(CHO)and FIB.(3)There was no significant difference(P0.05) in the fatality rate in case with the MELD score20 and predicting mortality.Conclusion:The important factors related to prognosis are TBIL,PTA,CHO,FIB.The MELD can accurately predict the fatality rate in the patients with severe hepatitis.
