Abstract
The four breeds of Native sheep were hybridized with Dorset ram by means of artificial insemination and the body weight of Dorset F1 was determined at birth, the age of three months, six months and twelve months and compared with that of native mountain valley type of Tibetan sheep. The results showed that body weight of Dorset F1 at birth, the age of three months, six months and twelve months increased 0.7,9.51,12.5 and 9.9kg than that of native Tibetan sheep, respectively.Dorset F1 showed obvious hybrid vigor, especially crossbreeding effect of Dorset with Tibetan-Han F1 was the best.
