Abstract

Although ZHANG Xue-cheng was born in the prosperous and flourishing period in Qing Dynasty,he was unknown to the purlic for 120 years.The paper believes that there are three reasons: his methods and ideas in research different from other scholars,the exclusion of dissidents' ethos in academic field and his won personality.In a word,ZHANG Xue-cheng did not know how to use effective means to spread his ideas,which perhaps is very common for intellectuals in Chinese feudal society at that time.
