EXPRESSION AND BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SURVIVIN IN LUNG CANCER

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of inhibitor of apoptosis protein Survivin,and determinethe role in lung cancer.Methods The expression of Survivin was detected by immunohischemistry.60cases of lung cancer and 10 cases of normal lun,tissue were examined.Results 36 cases(60%) of 60 lung cancer express Survivin;the expression degree of SCLC is higher than that of NSCLC(P0.05);the expression degree and positive rate of lung cancer was higher than that of the normal tissue(P0.0 1).The positive expression rate and degree was significantly related to lymph node metastasis and the stage(P0.05),the expression of stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ was lower than that of stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P0.05).Conclusion Survivin was overexpressed in lung cancer and it was related to the advancement and malignant behavior of lung cancer;Survivin may play promotion roles in the development of lung cancer and it may play a role in prognosis assessment and treatment.
