Abstract
Objective To study the expression of survivin and its relationship with the clinical pathological features of the NSCLC(non-small cell lung carcinoma). Methods The expression of survivin,p53 protein was detected in 80 cases of NSCLC tissues and 20 cases of normal lung tissue by immunohistochemical Streptavidin-Peroxidase (SP) method. Results survivin was expressed in 49 of 80(61.3%)cases of lung carcinoma and in 0 of 20(0) cases of normal lung tissues with the expression of survivin in lung carcinoma significantly higher than that in normal lung tissues(P0.05).The positive rate of survivin in stage Ⅲ~Ⅳwas significantly higher than that of survivin in stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ (P0.05);There was no relationship between survivin gene expression and histological subtypes, differentiation,TNM stages, lymph node metastasis (P0.05),There is the positive correlation existing in the expression of Survivin,mutation-P53 in lung carcinoma. Conclusion survivin with only expression in the cancer tissues, not in benign lung tissues, may play an important role in lung carcinogenesis and be identified as a definite diagnostic marker and a potential therapeutic target in NSCLC.Cooperative high expression of survivin and mutation-P53 in lung cancer tissues may make lung cancer develop quickly.
