Abstract

Objective Investigate the expression of Survivin and its relationship with clinical pathological parameter. Methods Examine the expression of Survivin in 45 cases of lung cancer and lymph nodes in lungs with imunohistochemistry. Results 64.4% specimen appeared Survivin positive expression in lung cancer tissue, and 76.0% lymph nodes with tumor metastasis contained Survivin positive cells. While in normal lung tissue and lymph nodes without tumor metastasis, the expression rate of Survivin is 0.The expression of Survivin had no relationship with age and histological type, but it was significantly associated with cell differentiation, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. The positive expression rate of Survivin in grade G1-G2(50.0%) was significantly lower than that in grade G3-G4(78.3%,P0.05);The positive expression rate of Survivin in clinical stage Ⅲ(83.3 %) was significantly higher than that in stage Ⅰand Ⅱ(51.8%,P0.05);The positive expression rate of Survivin in lung cancer with lymph node metastasis(84.0 %) was significantly higher than that in lung cancer without lymph node metastasis(40.0%,P0.05).Conclusion The apoptosis inhibition caused by survivin protein may play an essential role in the origin and progression of lung cancer.
