The Expression of PTEN in Colorectal Adenoma-Carcenoma Sequence

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expression of PTEN in colorectal adenoma-carcenoma sequence,and the role of PTEN in colorectal adenoma-carcenoma sequence.Methods: One hundred nineteen intestinal biopsy specimens(38 of adenoma,67 of colorectal adenocarcinoma) and 14 normal subjects were taken.The expression of PTEN protein in intestinal mucosa cells were detected by immunohistochemical staining.Results:①From normal mucosa,adenoma to colorectal adenocarcinoma,the expression of PTEN protien increased gradually;②In colorectal adenocarcinoma,there was not significantly difference between patients with metastasis and nonmetastasis for expression of PTEN(P0.05).Conclusion:The over expression of PTEN was an earlier event of colorectal adenoma-carcenoma sequence and may be an important integral component of the genesis of colorectal adenoma and carcinomas.
