Abstract

Objective:To probe the expression of PTEN in colorectal carcinoma, adenoma and normal mucosa in the large intestine and to analyze the correlation between PTEN and the pathological factors in colorectal carcinoma. Methods:EliVision immunohistochemical method was used to examine the expression of PTEN in carcinoma, adenoma and normal tissues. Results:The expression of PTEN detected in normal tissues was significantly higher than that in carcinoma(95%vs39.1% P0.01) and adenoma(95%vs65% P0.05).The expression of PTEN detected in adenoma had no significant correlation with that in carcinoma(65%vs39.1% P0.05).The expression of PTEN was positively correlated with histological class(P0.05).It was negatively correlated with lymph node metastasis(P0.05)and the depth of invasion(P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of PTEN in colorectal carcinoma is significantly lower than that in normal colorectal tissues, the expression of PTEN is significantly correlated with biological factors and PTEN is one of important markers that determine molecular and biological features of colorectal carcinoma.
