Effects of various therapeutic methods in treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis combined with pregnancy

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of various therapeutic methods in treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis(VVC) combined with pregnancy. Methods One hundred and sixty pregnant patients diagnosed as VVC during their first-time outpatient clinic visits from January 2012 to January 2014 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group.Clotrimazole vaginal tablet as western drug therapy was applied to the observation group,while baofukang suppository as traditional Chinese medical therapy was adopted to the control group.Each course of treatment lasted one week.After two-week treatment,the differences of bacterium-carrying and bacterium-removing in secreta by microscopic examinations in both groups were compared and the curative effects were calculated. Results The candida clearance of the observation group was 96.25%,lower than 77.50% of the control group,the difference was significant(P0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.25%,higher than 72.50% of the control group,the difference was significant(P0.05). Conclusion Clotrimazole vaginal tablet is convenient to use and safe,which serves as optimal choice for pregnant patient with VVC.
