Efficacy of clotrimazole vaginal tablets on treating vulvovaginal candidiasis( VVC) before induced abortion

Abstract
Objectives: To observe the efficacy of clotrimazole vaginal tablets on treating vulvovaginal candidiasis( VVC) before induced abortion,and summarize the nursing methods after treatment. Methods: 48 patients with VVC before induced abortion in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2013 were selected as the study objects,and divided into control group( 24 cases) and observation group( 24 cases). All the objects were treated by clotrimazole vaginal tablets,given 500 mg for 1 day to observation group and 200 mg for 3 days to control group.Efficacy of two groups was observed,and the nursing method was summarized. Results: After 28 d of treatment,there were 13 patients healed in control group( 54. 67%) and 20 cases in the observation group( 83. 33%),with statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). In the aspect of symptom relieving,all patients in observation group had relieved significantly in 3 days,while only 8 patients in control group had relived after 3 days 'treatment( 33. 33%),with statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion: For the treatment of VVC before induced abortion,applying 500 mg of clotrimazole vaginal tablets for 1 day is safe and effective,which can help patients recover significantly especially when combined with effective nursing.
