Abstract

The Chinese species of the pteromalid genus Heydenia are revised in this paper. One new species, Heydenia coomoni is described. The type specimens are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.Heydenia coomoni sp. nov. Female. Length 3*!mm. Head and thorax yellowish brown, gaster brown; antenna brown except pedicel yellowish; legs concolorous with thorax. Face with reticulate; eye with short hairs. Antennal insertion below the lower ocular line; the first funicular segment to fifth longer than its broad respectively (Fig.2); pedicel and flagellum combined longer than head width. Relative measurements: head width 37, height 33, length 21, eyes space 15, eyes height 18, eyes width 12, antennal toruli to clypeal margin 3, antennal toruli to median ocelli 17, POL∶OOL as 4∶2. Thorax (Fig.4) with large reticulation. Pronotum margined; notauli complete on mesoscutum. Propodeum with median carina and plica complete. Forewing with basal area bare; upper surface of costal cell bare; parastigma enlarged and bearing a tuft of cuous pilosity; forewing with a brown band. Petiole longer than broad; gaster 2 times as long as broad, with the first and second tergites slender (Fig.5). Relative measurements: pronotum length 13, width 18, mesoscutum 18∶31, scutellum 18∶17. Male: unknown. Holotype♀, China, Beijing (39.9°N, 116.4°E), 13 Sep. 1984, HUANG Da-Wei. Paratype 1♀, Tonkin, Hoa-Binh, coll. A. de. Coomon.Biology: unknown.Distribution. China: Beijing; Viet Nam (Hoa-Binh).
