Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the significance of three-dimensional digital subtraction angiography (3D-DSA) in the diagnosis and embolization treatment of intracranial aneurysms. Methods: Both DSA and 3D-DSA methods were performed on 34 patients who were suspected to suffer from intracranial aneurysms. The schemes of embolization were worked out based on the check results of 3D-DSA. Results: Of the 34 patients, 31 cases were diagnosed as intracranial aneurysms, and 32 aneurysms were detected with 2D-DSA. However, when 3D-DSA was used, the 34 cases were all diagnosed, and 36 aneurysms were found. 28 patients were treated with GDC embolization, of which, 20 cases were embolized completely (71.4%) and 8 cases embolized 90% of the aneurysms (28.5%). Conclusions: 3D-DSA can clearly show the stereo conformation of aneurysem and the relationship of sac and parent artery. It is good in showing multiple aneurysms, small and micro-small aneurysms and perforate artery. So, it is useful in the diagnosis and embolization treatment of cerebral aneurysms.
