On Selection System of the Officials in the Song Dynasty

Selection system of the officials in the Song Dynasty followed the system in the Tang Dynasty.Owing to the need of economic development of the landlords and official selection of imperial government,the system improved in many aspects,such as examination subjects,contents and methods.The number of officials selected were much more than they were in the Tang Dynasty,which reflected the basis enlargement of feudal rule and strength of centralization.However,this system led to the redundant officials selected,which caused corruption of local officials' administration,and influenced imperial ruling and people's life.
