Abstract

Objective To investigate the relations between BNP level and short-term heart failure in AMI patients.Methods One hundred and eleven patients with acute myocardial infarction were divided into two groups:perfusion group and non-perfusion group.The rapid plasma BNP levels were measured in all patients before treatment and at 7 d after treatment.All patients were followed up after admission for 30 d.Results In two groups,BNP levels increased immediately at admission,but there was no significant difference between them.At 7 d after admission,BNP levels in perfusion group significantly decreased(P0.05),but BNP levels of anterior AMI increased significantly in non-perfusion group(P0.05).UCG showed that LVEF and LVEDD in perfusion group were better than in non-perfusion group at 7 d after admission.At 7 d after admission,BNP level was negatively correlated to LVEF(r=-0.393,P0.01),but positively correlated with LVEDD(r=0.425,P0.01).BNP levels at admission and at 7 d were markedly correlated to the occurrence of heart failure events(P0.01).Conclusion The plasma BNP levels could be a predictor for occurrence of heart failure in AMI patients.
