Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of VEGF-C(vascular endothelial growth factor C) in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. And to investigate the relation between the expression of VEGF-C in lymph node metastasis and lymph node metastasis. Methods The expression of VEGF-C protein was examined in 40 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma which sort as lymph node metastasis group and nonmetastatic group by immunohistochemistry.Contrast with the contol group. Results The expression of VEGF-C protein was mainly detected in cytoplasm of malignant cells. And the expression was significantly higher in lymph node metastatic group than that in nonmetastatic group(P0.05).Conclusion The high expression of VEGF-C may closely related to the generation of lymphatic vessel and lymph node metastasis in Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
