Abstract

OBJECTIVE To understand the status of Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu)infections in urogenital tracts of patients with nongonococcal urethritis in the local region and analyze the drug resistance so as to provide experimental evidence for clinical reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The secretions from urogenital tract were collected by aseptic technique.Mycoplasma LST kits(bioMerieux,France)were used for Mycoplasma culture, identification, and drug susceptibility testing.RESULTS The positive rate of Mycoplasma culture was 40.6%(395/972).The positive rate of Uu was 88.6%(350/395).The drug susceptibility rates of Uu to pristinamycin, doxycycline, tetracycline and josamycin varied between 84.0%and 95.0%,the drug susceptibility rates to macrolide antibiotics varying between 25.0% and 37.0%;the drug resistance rate to fluoroquinolone antibiotics was about 90.0%.CONCLUSIONThe Mycoplasmaculture and the drug susceptibility testing are very important for the correct clinical diagnosis and the effective treatment of Mycoplasma infections.
