Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effects of methylcobalamin combined with alprostadil in the treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Methods Ninety-two patients with type 2 diabetes complicated by different degrees of peripheral neuropathy were selected and randomly divided into two groups.On the basis of adjusting blood sugar to the satisfactory level,the control group was only given the intramuscular injection of 0.5 mg of methylcobalamin once per day;on the basis of the control group,the treatment group was given the additional intravenous bolus injection of 10 μg of alprostadil dissolved in 10 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride solution once per day;Both groups were administrated for 4 continuous weeks.Results The treatment group had a significant effective rate of 52.2% and a total effective rate of 91.3%,which were significantly different from those of the control group(P 0.05).After the treatment,the nerve conduction velocity of both groups improved,but the improvement degree of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion Methylcobalamin combined with alprostadil is a favorably effective and highly safe method for the treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
