Abstract

Objective To probe into clinical and diagnostic value of β2-microglobin(β2-MG) and albumin(Alb)levels in urine in early renal damage of neonatal asphyxia. Methods The Radio-immunity method was used to measure β2-MG and Alb levels in urine as well as Urea-nitrogen of Blood(BUN)and creatinine(Cr) in serum for the 42 neonatal asphyxia(18 cases in severe asphyxia group and 24 cases in mild asphyxia group) and 22 normal neonatal cases within 24 hours after their birth. Results In the first day of their birth for the two group neonatal asphyxia the levels of β2-MG and Alb in urine of severe group were higher than those of the mild group(P0.05),the levels of β2-MG and Alb in urine of mild group were higher than those of the normal group while there was no significant differences of blood urea-nitrogen and serum creatinine between the three groups(P0.05).Conclusion Theβ2-MG and Alb test in urine is of great significance in evaluation of early renal functional damage, especially for the judgment of injury of renal tubule in neonatal asphyxia.
