Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the expression of PCNA and PTEN in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) and the correlation to prognosis. Methods:The expression of PCNA and PTEN were detected by the S-P immunohistochemical method in 56 NPC patients, and analyzed the relationship of their expressions with extent of primary lesion, lymph node metastasis, residual after radiotherapy and surival. Results:There were no correlation of PCNA and PTEN staining with extent of primary lesion and residual after radiotherapy(P0.05),but PTEN was correlation with lymph node metastasis(P0.05). The result of univariate analysis showed that the expression of PCNA and PTEN were no significant differences in surival(P0.05).Conclusion:Immunostaining of PCNA and PTEN has no important value for prognosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
