Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression and significance of PTEN and PCNA in laryngeal squemous cell Carcinoma(LSCC).Methods:The expression of PTEN and PCNA in 40 cases of laryngeal squemous cell Carcinoma(LSCC) was detected with immunohistochemical method(SP)、Thirty cases of polyp of vocal cord were used as control. Results:The positive expression rate of PTEN in LSCC was 52.5%.The expression of PTEN was significantly lower in Lscc compared to normal controls. The expression of PTEN in LSCC was related to pathological stages, clinical stage and metastasis of lymph node(P 0.05),but was not associated with age,and hypopharyngeal.(P 0.05).The positive rate of PCNA was 77.5% and 16.7% in LSCC and polyp of vocal cord, respectively, and the intensity of positive expression of PCNA was significally related to the histological grade, clinical stage and metastasis of lymph node(P 0.05),but was not associated with age,and tumor site.PTEN activity was associated with PCNA expression in LSCC(P 0.05).Conclusion:Decreased expression of PTEN found in LSCC,may be correlated with the development and metastasis of LSCC,and reversely correlated with the expression of PCNA:Combined detection of PTEN and PCNA may be helpful to evaluate the progress and prognosis of LSCC.
