Abstract
Objective To study the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA),phosphotase and tension homology deleted on chromosome 10(PTEN) in carcinoma of cervix, and the relationship between their expression, cancer cell proliferation and lymph node metastasis. Methods The expression of PCNA、PTEN in 68 cases of cervical carcinomas and 40 cases of benign lesion were detected by immunohistochemistry SP method. Results The positive expression rates of PCNA was remarkably higher in cervical carcinoma than those in benign lesion(P0.01),and the expression of PCNA was markedly correlated with lymph node metastasis(P0.05).While the positive expression rates of PTEN was remarkably lower in cervical carcinoma than those in benign lesion(P0.01),and there was a negative correlation between PTEN expression and nodal metastasis(P0.05) and the expression of PCNA(P0.01).Conclusions Loss of decreased expression PTEN was significantly correlated with cancer cell proliferation and lymph node metastasis.Higher expression of PCNA and lower expression of PTEN in cervical carcinoma may lead to cancer cells proliferation rapidly.Combination of PCNA,PTEN detection may be helpful to evaluate prognosis and infiltrative capability of cervical carcinoma and the clinic therapy.
