Abstract

【Objective】 To investigate the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase-11(MMP-11) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1) in colorectal carcinoma.【Methods】 The expressions of MMP-11 and TIMP-1 in colorectal carcinoma tissue and normal colorectal mucosa were studied by immunohistochemistry.【Resluts】 The differences of expression of MMP-11 and TIMP-1 were significant between colorectal carcinoma tissue and normal colorectal mucosa(P0.05);Expressions of MMP-11 was correlated with depth of tumor invasion, LN mestasis and Dukes stage(P0.05); Expression of TIMP-1 was correlated with LN mestasis and Dukes stage(P0.05);Positive correlation between MMP-11 and TIMP-1 was observed(P0.05).【Conclusion】 MMP-11 and TIMP-1 play a role in the generation and development of colorectal carcinoma, and may be markers to predict the progression and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.
