Relationship between Expressions of MMP-9,TIMP-2 and Invasion,Metastasis of Colorectal Carcinoma

Objective:To study the expressions of MMP9,TIMP-2 in colorectal carcinoma and their relationship with clinicopathological parameters.Methods:The expressions of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 in 108 cases of colorectal carcinoma were detected by S-P immunohistochemical method.Results:The expression rates of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 in 108 cases of colorectal carcinoma were 60.2% and 25.0% respectively.The expression of MMP-9 in colorectal cancers was positively correlated with invading depth,lymph node metastasis and Duke's stages,and negatively with survival time.The expression of TIMP-2 in these cases was negatively correlated with lymph node metastasis and Dukes stages,and positively with survival time.The expressions of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 were not related to gender,age,site,pathological type and degree of differentiation.Conclusions:The expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 may be important indexes for judging the malignant behavior,metastasis and prognosis in colorectal carcinoma.
