Clinical observation and nursing of the patients in the treatment of acute paraquat poisoning ( APP) by hemoperfusion

Objective To explore therapeutic effect of acute paraquat poisoning (APP) by hemoperfusion and seek for the related nursing measures. Methods APP patients had been divided into the treatment group in which traditional physician therapy plus hemoperfusion ( HP ) were given , the control group in which physician therapy only. Results The response rate was 72.7% and the mortality rate was 27.3% in the treatment group. The response rate was 31.2% and the mortality rate was 68.8% in the control group. There was a significant difference in the response rate between the two groups(P0.05). Conclusions The systemic physician treatment plus HP, in combination with a suitable nursing, can improve therapeutic effect of acute paraquat poisoning.
