Abstract
Objective: To study the expression of K-ras gene in benign and malignant lesions of endometrium, and study it′s significance to the occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma. Methods: The expression of K-ras gene in 33 cases of endometrial carcinoma, 39 cases of endometrial cystohyperplasia, 31 cases of atypical endometrial hyperplasia and 31 cases of normal endometrium in control group was detected by using LSAB immunohistochemical method. Results: There were significant differences of K-ras gene expression between normal endometrial tissue(35.48%),endometrial cystohyperplasia (35.90%), atypical growth of endometrium (41.94%), and endometrial carcinoma(69.70%) (P0.05). The expression of K-ras gene in endometrial carcinoma was significantly different in high grade and low grade as well as in different stages (P0.05), but had no relationship with its ages and conditions of menopause. Conclusions: The abnormal expression of ras gene plays an important role in occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma. It also can be an important marker of early diagnosis and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma.
