Abstract
AIM: To study the expressions of estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR),P53,C-erbB-2 and proli-ferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) in breast cancer tissues and their clinical significance.METHODS: The expressions of ER,PR,P53,C-erbB-2 and PCNA were detected by immunohistochemistry in 92 cases of breast cancer proved pathologically.RESULTS: The positive rates of ER,PR,P53,C-erbB-2 and PCNA protein were 60.9%,58.8%,29.3%,71.7% and 59.8% respectively in breast cancer tissues. The expression of ER was significantly different both in different tumor size groups and in groups with or without lymph node metastasis(P0.05).Expression of PR had no statistically significant difference among various age, tumor size, tumor stage groups and groups with or without lymph node metastasis. The expressions of C-erbB-2 and PCNA were positively correlated with lymph node metastases(P0.05).CONCLUSION: Combined detection of expressions of ER,PR,P53,C-erbB-2 and PCNA in primary breast carcinoma has practical value in the evaluation of prognosis and therapeutic effects of breast cancer patients.
