EFFECT OF NEUROTROPIN ON THE REMNANT SYMPTOMS OF TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA AFTER PERCUTANEOUS RADIOFREQUENCY THERMORHIZOTOMY

Objective: To verify the efficacy of Neurotropin on remnant symptoms after the percutaneous radiofrequency thermorhizotomy in patiens with trigeminal neuralgia.Methods: By a randomized single blind procedure,30 patients who had received percutaneous radiofrequency thermorhizotomy were divided into two groups: Neurotropin group and control group(n=15).Neurotropin 18 AGC unit added to 250ml saline was intravenously dripped for 7 days in Neurotropin group.Normal saline was intravenously dripped in control group.The scores of pain and numbness were observed by VAS after treatment.Results: Neurotropin significantly reduced the scores of pain and numbness on 1,3,7,and 14d after treatment.There were significantly difference between the two groups.There were no obvious adverse events in Neurotropin group.Conclusion: Neurotropin is effective in treating remnant symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia after percutaneous radiofrequency thermorhizotomy,which is involved in pain and numbness.
