Abstract
Objective To observe the effect and blood gas analysis changes of BiPAP ventilation in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with acute exacerbation of respiratory failure. Methods Respiratory medicine admitted in our hospital from January 2009 to January 2012 in COPD with respiratory failure in 64 patients, according to the random principle were divided into the treatment group and the control group(32 cases),of the control group were given nutritional support.BiPAP treatment group on the basis of the control group were given the BiPAP ventilator therapy, and arterial blood gas after treatment were observed in patients before treatment, after treatment 2 h,24 h,and recorded PaO2,PaCO2,pH changes. Results Compared with before treatment, after treatment for 2 h and 24 h,the two groups of patients with PaO2,PaCO2 were significantly improved(P0.05).And the BiPAP therapy group PaO2 compared with the control group increased more significantly,PaCO2 lowered more significantly than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).However,the two groups had no significant difference in pH before and after treatment. Conclusion BiPAP in treatment of COPD patients with respiratory failure had good, can significantly improve the patient's symptoms of hypoxia and carbon dioxide retention, simple, convenient and easily accepted by patients,is a safe and effective method, and it should be promoted.
