Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effects of BiPAP ventilation in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) with respiratory failure.Methods:83 patients confirmed with COPD with respiratory failure were randomly divided into two groups,42 cases of control group received routine treatment and 41 cases of treatment group received BiPAP treatment under the basis of routine treatment. All groups was observed dynamically on clinical manifestations, vital signs and blood gas changes at 4 hour and 24 hour before and after BiPAP ventilation. Results:Observed indexes including arterial blood gases, heart rate and respiratory rate in treatment group were improved markedly at 4 hours after BiPAP ventilation more than in control group(P0.05).Conclusion:BiPAP ventilation in treating COPD with respiratory failure is useful and an effective, simple,,harmless and practical method.
