Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) ventilator in the treatment of typeⅡ chronic respiratory failure. Methods: 74 cases of typeⅡ chronic respiratory failure were randomly divided into Bi-PAP ventilator treatment group(39 cases,treatment group) and conventional treatment group (35 cases,control group). Pa tients of control group accepted conventional treatment; in addition to conventional treatment, BiPAP treatment was applied in treatment group,and monitored the blood gas and respiratory rate, heart rate changes of two groups before and after treat-ment. Results: 6 h after treatment, PaO2 in treatment group significantly increased, PaCO2 decreased significantly, compared with them before treatment, there was a significant difference (P0.05); PaO2 and PaCO2 of control group had no significant difference before and after treatment (P0.05). Conclusion: The application of BiPAP ventilation in the treatment of type Ⅱ chronic respiratory failure is safe and effective, there is a high clinical value.
