Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the infections of Chlamydia trachomatis(CT) and Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU) in the genital tract and the occurrence of threatened abortion in early pregnant women. Methods PCR was used to detect the CT and UU infection in 126 abortion-threatened patients, another 126 normal early pregnant women were served as controls. Results In the patients group , the positive rate of CT , UU and both was 18.25%, 25.39%, and 9.52% in the abortion group, and 3.97%, 6.35% and 1.59% in the control, respectively. The difference of the positive rate between the two groups was significant (χ 2=7.56-17.12, P0.01) . Conclusion CT and UU infections in the genital duct may be one of the causes of abortion in early pregnant women.
