Abstract
Hermeneutics is a science of exploring,understanding and explaining meaning.Philosophical hermeneutic principles-historical interpretation,fusion of horizons and effected history-stress the importance of understanding to the translator and to the translation process.Translation,an interactive activity of culture and language,is the recreation of art.This paper,from the perspective of hermeneutics,analyses the role played by the translator.
