Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of Tie2 in human oral squamous cell carcinoma and its role in the regulation of tumor angiogenesis. Methods: S-P immunohistochemical method was used retrospectively to detected the expression of Tie2 in 40 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Results: Higher microvessel density (MVD) and the stronger expression of Tie2 were observed in oral squamous cell carcinoma than in normal tissue (P0.05);there were positive correlations between Tie2 expression and MVD, Tie2 expression and tumor differentiation (P0.05). Conclusion: Tie2 may play a key role in regulating angiogenesis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
