Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of Tie-2 receptor in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Tie-2 and CD34 protein expression in 34 oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) and 16 oral normal mucosa were detected by SABC immunohistochemical technique. Results Tie-2 and CD34 expressed at higher level in OSCC than in the control oral mucosa(P0.05);but expression of Tie-2 and CD34 was not significantly positive correlated with pathological grade in OSCC(P0.05).Conclusion Angiogenesis is increased in OSCC,and Tie-2 may be involved in the OSCC angiogenesis regulation.
