Abstract
Objective To explore the role of angoipoietin-2(Ang-2) and Tie-2 receptor in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Ang-2,Tie-2 and CD34 protein expression in 34 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) and 16 cases of oral normal mucosa as control was detected by SABC immunohistochemical technique. Results Ang-2 was expressed at low level in control while strongly positively in oral squamous cell carcinoma and the level of Ang-2 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma was related with pathologic classification ⅢⅡⅠ(P0.05). Tie-2 and CD34 were expressed at low level in the control oral mucosa;but they were strongly expressed in OSCC,and the level of Tie-2 and CD34 in OSCC was not related with pathologic classification (P0.05). Conclusion Angiogenesis is increased in OSCC. Angoipoietin-2/Tie-2 may be involved in the OSCC angiogenesis regulation.
