Abstract

Chen Bai-sha was the founder of Doctrine of Mind(xinxue) in neo-confucianism of the Ming Dynasty.ButDoctrine of Mind in that circumstances was often disgraced as Zen Buddhism.Today when we rethink this comment,we will find it still has something to be deliberated.Although Bai-sha’s Doctrine of Mind(xinxue) was similar to Zen Buddhism in cultivation,Bai-sha and Zen Buddhism were different either on the value direction of cultivation,or on the actuality implementation of ultimate concern.Bai-sha’s Doctrine of Mind(xinxue) was still along with the value coordinate of traditional Confucian.Bai-sha assimilated the mind of Zen Buddhism,which was an action that broke the school bias.It actually combined the strengths of every school to search for harmony between Confusius and Yan Hui.
