Study of the relationship between the levels of nitric oxide (NO) in serum and cerebral infarction,cerebral hemorrhage.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between the levels of Nitric Oxide(NO) in serum and cerebral infarction,cerebral hemorrhage.Methods:The levels of NO in serum of 36 patients with cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage were determined by colorimetry method.Results:the levels of NO in serum of patients with cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage were lower respectively than those of the control group( P 0.01).However,there was no statistical different between cerebral infarction group and cerebral hemorrhage group( P 0.5). Conclusion:The decrease of level of NO in serum may be closely related to cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage.
