Abstract
Objective To study the effects of Astragalus injection on the content of NO and the activity of iNOS in the pressure ulcers involved ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) injury in rats and explore its protective mechanism. Methods 32 rats were divided into 4 groups randomly, each group with 8 rats: group A(control group); group B(AI treated group with the way of intraperitoneal injection and External use); group C(AI treated group with the way of intraperitoneal injection);group D(ischemia-reperfusion group), Each group was adopted with HE staining, Nitric oxide(NO) and nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) detection. The eye pressure, microscopic examination and NO, iNOS determination of Rats in 4 groups were observed and compared. Observation and comparisons were made among the groups. Results HE staining showed that the level of tissue pathological changes in rats of the group B was significantly decreased compared with group C and group D;The values of NO、iNOS were markedly higher in group B、C and D than those in group A(P0.01).However,those in group B were significantly decreased compared with group C and D(P 0.01).Conclusion NO is related to ischemia-reperfusion injury. Astragalus injection has a protective effect against tissue damage and the mechanism may be related to reducing the content of NO through reversing the disorder of NOS system function. The mix way of intraperitoneal injection and External use might be more effective than the way of intraperitoneal injection.
