Abstract
Objective:To study the influence of individual oral health measures to gingivitis during the orthodontic treatment.Method:Selected 400 patients with the dental orthodontic admitted to our hospital from March 2007 to January 2013,which were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,200 cases in each group.Experimental group took systematic health education to enhance their personal oral health measures,and control group took general health education,then observed and compared the occurrence of gingivitis of two groups in 3,6 months after treatment.Result:After treatment,the experimental group in 6 months gingivitis rate was 9%,the control group was 24%,by compared the gingivitis rates between the two groups,difference were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Systematic health education can enhance personal awareness of oral health measures in orthodontic patients,significantly reduced the incidence of the patients with gingivitis.
