The effect analysis of oral health education in the orthodontic treatment

Objective:To compare the variations of gingivitis on orthodontic and to evaluate the effect of oral health education in orthodontic therapy.Methods:40 patients who had just taken the fixation appliance early were randomly divided into two groups with the orthodontic treatment,with 20 patients in each group.The first group accepted simple individual oral health education,while the second group gained normal and comprehensive oral health education.The effect with in cidence of GI and PLI in the orthodontic treatment was evaluated.Results:There was significant difference between the two groups in the 12 months with the orthodontic treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:The gingivitis and dental plaque taken by fixed appliance should be paid attention to.What's more,the group training of oral health education is one of the best way to prevent gingivitis and dental plaque.
