Effect of systenic health education on ngivitis of orthodontic patients

Objective: To discuss effectiveness of oral health education on oral health for ngivitis and improving oral health status of orthodontic patients.Methods: 400 patients will be bonded orthodontic fixed appliances were randomly divided into two groups,200 patients were educated by looking the video of system health education,the control group of 200 patients were given regular health education.Gingival index(by gingivitis diagnostic criteria) were recorded for each individual patient three months and six months after being with orthodontic appliances,and the data of the two groups were compared.Results: It was found that there were no difference in ngivitis index between the two groups before treatment.There were no difference in ngivitis index between the two groups after 3 months(P0.05),but there were significant difference in ngivitis index between the two groups after 6 months(P0.05).Conclusion: Systemic health education with the video data can improve oral hygiene of orthodontic patients and can reduce the incidence of gingivitis more effectivly.
