Accessory Effect of Paroxetine to Treat the Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia

Abstract

Objective To explore the effeot of antipsychotics combined with paroxetine in the treatment of negative symptoms of schizophrenia.Methods Forty chronic Schizophrenia inpatients with negative Symptoms were studied.Positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS) and treatment emergent sympton scale(TESS) were nsed to assess the efficacy and side effects before and after treatments.Results After 12 weeks of treatments,the total score and negative symptoms score of PANSS were significantly decreased.No signcfitant difference was found in Tess score before and affer treatments.Conclusion Antipsychotics combind with paroxetine has significant efficasy and less side effects in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia with negative symptoms.
