Abstract

Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of propafenone an d v erapamil in the treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.Methods:87c ases were randomly divided into two groups, propafenone group and verapamil grou p,and the following indexes were compared between the two groups:1.recovery rat e2.the time of conversion to normal sinus rhythm,3.the incidence rate of side e ffect. Results:The recovery rate of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia was98 %in propafenone group and88%in verapamil group; The time of conversion to normal s inus rhythmwas5.8min in propafenone group and7.5min in verapamil group; The incid ence rate of side effect was8%in propafenone group and16%in verapamil group.Conc lusion:Propafenone has a higher recovery rate, shorter time of conversion and lo wer incidence rate of side effect compared with verapamil.
