Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between coronary heart disease(CHD) and C reactive protein(CRP) level. Methods The level of CRP was measured in 80 CHD patients confirmed by coronary angiography(CAG) and compared with the level of 50 healthy controls. In the CHD group, there were 31 patients wtih stable angina,25 patients wtih unstable angina and 24 patients with acute myocardial infarction;there were 30 patients with single vessel pathological changes and 50 patients with more than single vessel pathological changes. Results The plasma CRP levels increased sequentially in the stable angina pectoris group, the unstable angina pectoris group and acute myocardial infarction group. The indices of the stable angina pectoris group(F=1.826,P0.05),the unstable angina pectoris group(F=4.232,P 0.01) and acute myocardial infarction group(F=6.745,P0.01) were significantly higher than those of the normal control group. In the coronary heart disease group, the CRP level of 2 vessels lesion group F=7.925,P0.01) and 3 vessels lesion group(F=9.467,P0.01) were increased sequentially, and were significantly higher than those in the normal control group. Conclusions The CRP level are correlative with CHD and the severity of CHD.
