Abstract
Objective It is to discuss the effect of angiotensin II receptor antagonism (Valsartan) on chronic congestive heart failure. Methods 76 patients with chronic congestive heart failure were divided into two groups. Both groups were treated with normal method, and the treatment group was given Valsartan 80 mg once a day for 12 weeks additionally. Then the blood pressure, heart rate, heart function and heart failure hospitalization rate in the two groups were observed before and after treatment. Results In treatment group, heart function improved obviously and the heart failure hospitalization rate lowered down obviously after treatment for 12 week. Conclusion Valsartan can improve the heart function and lower down the hospitalization rate of patients with heart failure.
