Abstract
Objective To study the expression of Fas、FasL in gastric carcinogenesis and its possible significance. Methods The expression of Fas and FasL were analyzed with immunohistochemistry SABC method in different gastric mucosa. Results The positive expression rates of Fas were 46.6% for gastric cancer tissues, 51.6% for paracarcinoma tissues, and 83.3% for tissues of 5 cm distance from gastric cancer tissue, 85% for gastric mucosa of benign diseases, and 95% for normal gastric mucosa. The positive expression rates of FasL in the above-mentioned tissues were 86.6%, 81.6%, 26.6%,20% and 10%. The expression of Fas and FasL was correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation (P 0.05), but has not significant difference for tumor stage and metastases in lymph nodes (P 0.05). Conclusion The abnormal expression of Fas and FasL maybe relate with the pathogenesis of gastric cancer and is also involved in the degree of differentiation and the immune escape.
