Abstract

Objective To study the expression of cyclooxygenase\|2(Cox\|2), Fas/FasL in human gastric carcinoma tissues and the relationship between Cox\|2, Fas/FasL and the apoptosis of gastric carcinoma cells. Methods SP immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression of Cox\|2, Fas and FasL in 60 cases of gastric carcinoma and there adjacent noncancerous tissues, and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase\|mediated dUTP nick end labeling was used to detect the apoptosis of above tissues. Results The positive rate of Fas in gastric carcinomas was significantly lower than the adjacent nocancerous tissues(P0 05). The positive rates of Cox\|2 and FasL in gastric carcinomas were significantly higher than the adjacent nocancerous tissues(P0 05). The index of apoptosis in gastric carcinomas was significantly lower than the adjacent noncancerous tissues(P0 05). Conclusion The apoptosis of gastric carcinoma cells correlated with the expression of Cox\|2,Fas and FasL.\;
