Value of Transvaginal Sonography in the Diagnosis of Atypical Tubal Pregnancy

Abstract

Objective To assess the value of transvaginal sonography (TVS) in diagnosis of atypical tubal pregnancy. Methods The transvaginal sonographic findings obtained from 43 patients were compared with the results of operation and pathology. Results The accuracy rate of diagnosis with ultrasonography was 95.35%. The imagings of transvaginal sonography could be classified into three types: tubal unruptured type, tubal abortion type and ”chronic” type. Conclusion Transvaginal sonography is an useful tool in diagnosis of atypical tubal pregnancy. [
