Clinical Observation of Zhitu Powder on Chemotherapy-induced Vomiting

Objective:To discuss curative effect of Chinese medicine on prevention and treatment for chemotherapy-induced vomiting. Methods:76 patients with malignant tumor teated by chemotherapy were divided into treatment group and control group randomly. On the foundation of antiemesis treatment in the period of chemotherapy,Zhitu Powder based on prescription principle of boost qi and downbear counterflow was taken in treatment group. Result:The occurrence rate of grade III~IV nausea and vomiting in treatment group was 39.47%,which was significantly lower than the occurrence rate of 76.32% in control group(P0.01). Usage rate of 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor inhibitor in order to relieve vomiting in treatment group was 53.53%,which was lower than the usage rate of 79.31% in control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Chinese medicine could effectively prevent and treat chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
